The Breitbart ship is going belly up! Five reporters and editors of the conservative news site have jumped since Michelle Fields' wild accusations that Donald Trump's campaign manager physically assaulted her at a rally.
Trump addressed media questions about the accusations without hesitation.
"Perhaps she made the story up," says Trump. "I think that's what happened."
But now Breitbart editor Ben Shapiro, spokesman Kurt Bardella, and staffers Jordan Schachtel and Jarrett Stepman, have also left the publication. All claim their exits are in support of Fields, but it's a tough to see that as the only reason--Ben Shapiro is now editor-in-chief for DailyWire.com and Michelle Fields is making media rounds in response to her claims.
"I was privately a supporter of him [Trump]," Fields told Megan Kelly. "..What he's doing [now] is throwing me under the bus."
Fields filed a criminal complaint against Trump's campaign manager Corey Lewandowski.
Trump's camp claims that Lewandowski and members of Trump's security team were simply trying to keep reporters back as they made their way down the hall. Even Fields admitted that she could not clearly see the person who grabbed her.
